Department Goals

Our goal has been and continues to be a high quality degree program in Information Sciences that prepares students for lifelong learning as they undertake professional careers in computing. The Departmental goals are divided into Long Range Goals and Short Range Goals.



Long Range Goals


  • To provide worthy students for the IT Industry at National / International level by imparting adequate skills through effective teaching methodologies.
  • To provide state-of-the-art computing facilities to students for getting adequate exposure to the latest trends in Hardware / Software technologies.
  • To promote active Industry-Institute collaboration by identifying areas of mutual interest.
  • To conduct various continuing education programs relevant to the needs of the society in general and for faculty improvement in particular.
  • To develop the Department into a Center of Excellence for Computer Learning.
  • To promote active Industry-Institute collaboration by identifying areas of mutual interest.
  • Create Opportunities for Faculty to update their Knowledge and to Improve their Qualification by encouraging them for higher studies.
  • To continuously improve the Teaching - Learning process to be effective.

Short Range Goals


  • To offer Counseling and Guidance to the students on a continuous basis in all matters including career advancement and to mould them as responsible citizens.
  • To encourage students to incorporate their spirit of cooperation and leadership, to work in groups through collective participation in projects, seminars, group discussions, cultural, quiz programs etc.
  • To inculcate the attitudes and aptitudes that are necessary to pursue higher studies and research.
